FROM IDEA TO
PROTOTYPE TO PRODUCTION
Additive manufacturing is the process of creating physical objects from 3D CAD models by building one layer at a time.
Our team will be with you through each step of the process; from the conceptualization of the idea to the
finished 3D printed part, making it easier for you to concentrate on the other aspects of the project.
No quantity is too small when it comes to small run manufacturing. It is the next best thing to Injection
moulding when the quantities are low.
Nova has the capability to perform each step in the manufacturing process; from the idea to 3D printing master models to final finished batch of products.
Nova Product Development Services Ltd. was established in 1993 to provide quality rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing) services to a variety of clients — designers, engineers, developers and the manufacturing industry. We offer our clients the most modern prototyping services available.
Rapid Prototyping (RP) processes include Polyjet printing, Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), and Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) from manufacturers such as 3D Systems, Stratasys, and EOS.
Some of the materials / resins used include Somos resins for SLA; Duraform resins for SLS; ABS, Polycarbonate, Ultem and PPSF for FDM. Metals for DMLS include steel, aluminum, cobaltchrome+titanium.
Prototype models can be used to evaluate the form, fit and feel of a design. They can also be used as master models (patterns) for additional processes such as casting or rapid tooling (rubber, urethane or epoxy) to produce parts in silicon rubber, urethane (flexible and rigid), aluminum, zinc, iron and steel.
For end use parts, some of the RP parts are usable, depending on geometry, material and application. CNC machining can produce precision functional parts in end use materials. 3 Axis and 5 axis machining is available for parts in ABS, Delrin (acetal), Renshape, aluminum and steel along with many others. Vacuum Forming of plastic materials such as Styrene, PETG AND and ABS can be a cost effective way to produce functional parts.
Injection moulding of plastic parts in small volumes with insert tools, or large volumes with dedicated moulds produces production parts to take to market.
Lastly, there are the traditional hand made models, where no 3D data exists or for sculptural shapes.
Nova is your one stop shop for prototypes and low volume manufacturing. Call, email or fax to discuss a project, an application, or if you need a quote. Rush jobs welcomed.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Nova understands through thousands of project iterations how a product idea becomes a product on a shelf, and more importantly, that 'the show must go on'. Nova will find you an affordable pathway to a functional prototype: Nova has helped OS&B with prototypes, displays and other services essential to securely guide IP flow from brain to box.
